A new season of Jujutsu Kaisen is in the works at MAPPA, the animation studio that is also behind the hyped Chainsaw Man adaption as well as the famed anime series, Shingeki no Kyojin.

Recently, a new key visual was revealed for the upcoming season of Jujutsu Kaisen. The key art reveal was made via the anime’s official Twitter account.

Check out the key visual below, which features Gojo Satoru, Shoko Ieri, and Geto Suguru.

Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen features the trio donned in Jujutsu High School's second-year uniforms. Following the popularity of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 prequel film, Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 was announced in February. The tale of the manga is set to continue in the second season.

The key visual suggests that the upcoming season’s plot will cover the "Gojo's Past" arc, which follows Gojo during his second year at Jujutsu High, where he and Geto are tasked with accompanying a "Star Plasma Vessel" to Master Tengen. Gojo and Geto will face many curse users along the way.

The “Shibuya Incident” arc is also expected to make a reveal in the upcoming season. Set in the present, the arc follows an alliance between Geto and Mahito as they attempt to permanently imprison Gojo.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 will return in 2023, though no specific season date has been revealed. However, the prequel movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, will launch on Crunchyroll on September 21 in select regions.
