The mobile game Ragnarok X: Next Generation celebrated its first anniversary in Malaysia with a War of the Chosen S2 Govern Thunder Watch Party. Sponsored by Huawei, the event was held at the prestigious Boathouse, Kuala Lumpur, and saw hundreds of ROX Adventurers gathered to spectate the final rounds of the tournament.

Organised by AppGallery and ROX, the War of the Chosen Watch Party was held and broadcast live simultaneously across five markets in the Asia Pacific region, namely Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.

A cross-server tournament that began on 26 June, The War of the Chosen Season 2 saw both PC and mobile players battling it out in an open tournament to win their share of prizes worth over US$60,000 for the top 8 teams in the Asia Pacific region. As the main sponsor, Huawei offered 64 smart devices as part of the prizes.

Kicking off as one of the first major events to be held offline since the pandemic struck two years ago, AppGallery is committed to bringing the Ragnarok X: Next Generation (ROX) experience beyond the online space, to combine the best of both the online and offline worlds and elevate the experiences of its avid players.

Players from different guilds had the opportunity to socialise and mingle over dinner and refreshments, and enjoyed captivating performances such as a percussion performance as well as K-Pop-inspired dances. Cosplayers were also in attendance, adding to the realism of the event for players.

The event also featured a ton of exciting events to engage players in a day of fun. Attendees had the opportunity to visit the ROX PVP Station for intense matches. Before heading to the photo booth, attendees can spruce up their looks at the ROX Makeup Booth with ROX-inspired body art. Finally, lucky draws with attractive prizes were conducted, including Huawei’s latest smartphone, the P50 Pro and other smart devices. After an exciting lineup of events, popular DJ LadyAnna riled up the crowd and ended the watch party with a bang.

AppGallery also reinforced its commitment to e-sports with plans to organise more offline events with the WOC Watch Party being the first in two years. AppGallery states that they welcome collaboration with all mobile games on related events.

AppGallery will also be part of the upcoming Thailand Game Show (TGS) 2022, with more interesting features such as esports tournament collaborations with partnering content provider apps, and will be hosting more gathering events.

The WOX event concluded with great success, as both AppGallery and ROX succeeded in being the catalyst to bridge the gap between the offline and online world, bringing together players for an elevated user experience.

Overall, the event was an extremely fun experience judging from the beaming smiles from attendees. AppGallery is looking to add popular game titles and integrate game features for an overall cohesive ecosystem.

If you missed out on this event, fret not as there will be more offline fan-gathering events hosted in the future to bring the virtual experience into the real world, with more exciting in-app promotions and exclusive discounts.
